Just named one the "25 Top Lodges in North America" by Field & Stream magazine Rainbow Bay Resort is
truley a Premier Fishing Destination. You will fish the Iliamna /Bristol Bay drainages
of Southwest Alaska. This area is,
beyond a doubt, the best Rainbow fishing region of Alaska. Rainbows ranging up to
12 pounds are common. Bristol Bay is also the spawning grounds of all 5 species of Pacific
Salmon as well as Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling and Northern Pike
Rainbow Bay Resort Lodge was built in 1984 and has been family owned and operated for this
period by Jerry and Karen Pippen along with son Spencer Pippen.
Rainbow Bay Resort is located only 15 miles from the Halibut rich waters
of Lower Cook Inlet of the North Pacific where we offer our fisherman the opportunity to fish
salt water for this great eating fish.
The majority of our fishing is stream fishing and is accomplished by wading. A typical week
of fishing at RBR will offer a variety of fishing. You will have the discretion to choose the
majority of your daily fishing destinations that are available during your stay. Whether you
are an accomplished fly fisherman or a beginner spin fisherman, we have the right trip for you
Rainbow Bay Resort Lodge is one of the most luxurious, yet rustic, lodges in Alaska.
Situated on the remote shores of Lake Iliamna, we offer a quiet serenity and fantastic fishing
seldom found anywhere. Each bedroom is spaciously furnished with two queen size beds and a
private bath for your comfort and convenience.
The Lodge is constructed with logs and the
interior is covered with cedar. You will spend your evenings in the spacious lounging area
and while you re-live your days fishing adventures, you will enjoy your favorite beverage
and hors d'oeuvres before setting down to a sumptuously prepared meal.
