We booked a day with Chuck and his son Adam on a sunny day in May. This is my sister, dad and yours truly. We showed up at the shop and after a cup of coffee and some talk about matching the hatch we were off to the river.

The river was running high and there really wasn’t much area to wade, but Chuck got us into the action right away. His deep understanding of the river and the fish that inhabit it was truly impressive. From what I understand this is probally the best spot for monster browns and rainbows in the state of Missouri.

We spent the better part of the day hugging the shoreline rollcasting at thousands of trout. Chuck and his son are so proficient at putting people on fish that they make a mockery of the other anglers everytime they go out. We caught and released 10 fish for each fish everyone else caught. He had my sister, who was 5 months pregnant, on fish all day long. She caught and released 32 fish that day. In true big sister fashion she made sure to point out the big ones, you know even in her 30's she's still teasing me
